FRONTIER DAYS IN OLD LOGANSPORT
For many years, the biggest celebration of the year occurred early each Spring when the Trail Riders from Logansport embarked on their annual Trail Ride to the Houston Fat Stock Show. During Frontier Days, Our Town celebrated its history as the "Gateway to the West." Downtown was filled with horses and riders; men grew long beards; and ladies ironed their bonnets and aprons. It was a lot of fun, and is remembered longingly by the old-timers of the town.
Recently Mark Price has recreated those days using old 8 MM movies shot in the 1950's and 1960's by his grandfather Teague Price. Mark has up loaded the video to UTube where you can view it directly. To view from this blog, go to the right hand column, and scan down until you find the U Tube Bar. Click on the first video. If the video does not play, click on the icon in the window, and U Tube will open and scenes from LOGANSPORT's FRONTIER DAYS will take you back to another time.
If you have still photos from our Frontier Days, please submit these so we can include a slide show on this site.
